FADE IN:
|
INT. KITCHEN - EVENING |
|
The kitchen is dim from the evening light coming from the
window - the blind is half drawn down. There are lights in
the kitchen coming from above the oven and the other side of
the kitchen.
Amy approaches John. She is clearly upset and slightly
aggrievated. As the scene goes on, Amy starts crying and
shaking - she wants to find out why her husband is acting
oddly. |

Amy is standing in front of John. She looks straight at him
with an upset look in her eyes. |
|
|
AMY
(Her voice is clam, but the
audience can tell she is upset)
Why have you been acting so
different, is there something
wrong? |
|
|
John Remains silent. He clearly wants to explain but he does
not. He looks hurt. |
|
Amy remains persistent |
|
|
AMY
(she is getting impatient)
Just tell me |
|
|
Amy moves closer to John - he remains silent and motionless,
he closes his looks down and closes his eyes. He cannot look
at Amy as he can see that she is really upset. He eventually
opens his eyes. |
|
Amy grabs John's shoulders and looks extremely upset and
aggravated. She shakes John's shoulders occasionally as she
speaks. |
|
|
AMY
(There is desperation in Amy's
voice)
Why can't you be honest with me?!
(Amy's voice becomes more hurt and
upset)
Are you cheating on me? |
|
|
John's eyes look glossy, he is clearly stopping his tears.
He remains silent. |
|
2.
|
|
AMY
(Amy is getting more aggrievated
with John, as he continues to
remain silent)
John! |
|
|
Amy grabs a cup that is placed on the counter next to her.
As she speaks she picks the cup up and throws it. |
|
|
AMY
(Amy's voice is raised)
Why can't you just respond to me?! |
|
|
The glass shatters on the floor and makes a loud sound. Amy
raises her hands to her face and covers her mouth - her
hands are shaking. |
|
John moves his hand towards Amy's face in attempt to wipe
her tears away from her face. Amy chaotically moves back and
pushed John's hand away.
John still attempts to hug Amy - she refuses his gestures |
|
|
|
Amy takes a step back |
|
|
JOHN
(John tries to calm amy down)
Please, shh.. |
|
|
Amy gives in and lets John hug her, she hides her face in
John's shoulder.
John closes his eyes and places his face near Amy's ear. |
|
|
JOHN
(John whispers something into
Amy's ear but the audience cannot
make out what he is saying) |
|
|
|
|
|
INT. LIVING ROOM - EVENING |
|
The lights are quite dim, there are candles lit on the
coffee table. There is music silently playing in the
background but the scene seems silent. There is a wedding
dress and a suit laying neatly on the sofa.
Amy walks into the living room and stoops in the door, she
leans on the doorframe and looks at the room for a second.
She then proceeds and sits down on the sofa. |

|
|
INT. FLASHBACK (WEDDING) - DAY |
|
The saturtion of the light is quite dim but positive. The
couple is dressed in their wedding clothes. Amy is wearing a
peach coloured dress and John is wearing his black suit.
The couple is standing at the altar they are standing there
for a short amount of time and they grab hands. |
|
|
INT. LIVING ROOM - EVENING |
|
The mide-en-scene, lights and sound are exactly the same as
in scene two.
Amy is sitting next to the wedding dress. She is holding
John's wedding suit in her hands. She looks upset and is
looking straight at the floor. |
|
|
|
|
INT. CORRIDOR - DAY |
|
It is quite bright outside but the corridor is slightly
darker than the rest of the house.
The couple is walking out of the back door - John is
covering Amy's eyes. Amy is giggling. |
|
|
EXT. GARDEN - DAY |
|
The bright sunlight is setting in the garden. There is a
tent set up in the middle of it and fairy lights are hanging
around the tent - they are not lit up.
The couple continue walking out through the door. John takes
his hands off of Amy's eyes when they get outside. Amy is
suprised and looks up at John who is standing behind her,
she smiles and looks back at the tent. |

|
|
INT. FLASHBACK (CAMPING) - EVENING |
|
It's quite dark outside - there is light coming from the
fairy lights that are inside of the tent. The couple's
silhouettes are visible through the walls of the tent.
The young couple are laying in the tent. Amy is laying on
John's shoulder, he is stroking her hair and they are
holding hands. Amy's eyes are closed and John looks happy. |
|

|
INT. GARDEN (PRESENT) - DAY |
|
The scene goes back to the garden as in the scene before the
flashback.
The couple is laying in the tent. The male is still stroking
the female's hair. and they are holding hands. |
|
|
|
|
INT. KITCHEN - DAY |
|
The light is slightly dim, although it is daytime. There is
silence in the kitchen.
Amy is standing and looking out of the window. She is
holding a cup and possibly drinking tea. After a moment she
puts the cup down and takes a deep breath in - she rubs her
eyes and runs her hands through her hair. |
|
|
|
|
INT. DOCTORS OFFICE - DAY |
|
The office is in natural light. The silence emphasises the
awkwardness of the moment.
The Doctor looks upset - he is holding the door and looks at
John. John looks extremely sad, he does not say anything -
he walks up to the door and looks at the Doctor. |
|
|
JOHN
(tries to speak but cannot) |
|
|
|
DOCTOR
(the doctor interrupts John as he
can see that it is hard for him to
respond, the doctor's voice is
toned down sounds like he is also
struggling to speak)
I..I'm sorry |
|
|
John looks at the doctor and then looks at the floor. He
nods his head as if he was bowing down. He slowly walks out
of the door.
John's steps are heavy although not making too much sound.
The silence consumes the scene. |
|
|
|
|
5.
|
EXT. THE RIVER - DAY |
|
The weather is not the greatest. The river is in front of
the couple.
The couple is facing the river, sitting on a blanket and
eating food. Amy rests her head on John's head and closes
her eyes, John looks slightly upset, however it does not
come across clearly. |
|
|
|
|
EXT. THE RIVER (FLASHBACK) - DAY |
|
The weather is pleasant. We can hear the river and birds.
John (young) is carrying Amy (young) - she is trying to
escape. They are both laughing and Amy(young) is screaming.
John (young) throws Amy(young) in the river and runs away -
Amy (young) splashes water at his and tries to get him wet. |
|
|
|
|
INT. DINING ROOM - DAY |
|
The couple is sitting at the table together - facing each
other.
They are eating a meal together - they both look slightly
upset.
John seems really upset - after a while, he extends his hand
towards Amy and grabs her hand. |
|
|
|
|
INT. RESTAURANT (FLASHBACK) - DAY |
|
The atmosphere is very warm. We can hear ordinary sounds of
a restaurant.
The couple is facing each other
John takes out a small ring out of his pocket and hides it
in his hand - he reaches for Amy's hand and takes the ring
out. She is extremely suprised and puts the ring on. |
|
|
|
|
INT. BEDROOM - DAY |
|
Amy is standing in the bedroom and slowly sits on the bed.
Her actions are slow, almost slow motion. She is looking
straight in front of her. |
|
6.
|
|
|
|
INT. ARGUMENT (FLASHBACK) - DAY |
|
We can see the couple hugging. John's face is extremely
close to Amy's ear - they both look very upset.
We can see John whispering something into Amy's ear. |
|
|
JOHN
(He is whispering, he sounds like
he is struggling to speak)
I- I...only have a week left to
live |
|
|
|
|
|
INT. BEDROOM - DAY |
|
Amy is laying on the bed, she is facing a small photo frame,
the small polaroid picture shows the couple cuddling each
other.
Amy looks extremely tired. She has bags under her eyes and
looks like she's been crying. |
|
|
|
|
INT. FIELD - DAY |
|
The sunlight is extremely bright - we can hardly see the
couple.
The couple is facing the sun. Amy is holding the camera up
and John is cuddling her.
The flash of the camera is bright and loud. We can see a
small picture coming out of the camera - the couple proceeds
to walk away together - they are both laughing and smiling. |

FADE OUT. |
